Must Haves for MySpace.com Profiles
If you want to really make your MySpace.com profile outshine the rest of the worlds’, you should consider adding these valuable resources to your overall plan.
1.) Host your own images via free webspace.
People add their own personality and images to their MySpace.com profile by including images from other sites like Photobucket, ImageShack and the like. The challenge you run into here is if your account exceeds its bandwidth, your images might become unaccessible. Therefore, I like to use my own webspace for my images.
Free webspace can be found:
That will help you for hosting images.
But what if you want to run a free ezine, build a fan-based list or grow a business list?
You can also consider:
2.) Add an optin autoresponder.
An autoresponder is what all the huge and teeny businesses alike use to stay in touch with their customers. If you have your own domain, your ISP probably already offers a free autoresponder or two. You can see my optin autoresponder on the right - it allows people to sign up for my free ezine.
You can use free autoresponders from companies…but your messages will then have their advertisements on them. I firmly believe in spending the $20/month or so to ensure my autoresponders focus on one thing only…my own business.
Popular autoresponders include:
3.) Add cool scripts
Many sites will offer you scripts you can include in your profiles that allow for cool actions. but you MUST be aware that some scripts will try to embed spyware or other ickies into your profile - ask around and investigate first before adding anything you don’t understand yourself!
That being said, here are some great MySpace script and code sites:
