Finding your child’s MySpace profile
There are several ways you can find your kids’ MySpace profile if they have hidden online online. Here are some techniques for your consideration.
Step 1.) Get your own MySpace account…and set your area code to be where the school is located.
Step 2.) Next, click on Search.
Step 3.) Type in the name of the school your child attends and peruse the results. Remember, if kids want to hide their MySpace.com participation, they’ll use fake names or avatars. There’s a good chance you’ll find who you are seeking.
Another way to find your child’s MySpace.com account is:
Step 1.) Search for your kids’ friends’ names.
Step 2.) Once found, look who their friends are. Your kid might have put a false profile there.
I firmly believe in monitoring one’s children online. Your kid might not do MySpace at home, but that doesn’t mean she or he won’t log in when at the public library! Always be proactive.

How to add a billion MySpace friends
Cute and to the point - did you know that the css style for your friends network is defined by:
.redbtext
Thus, you add:
.redbtext:after {
content: " billion";
}
to your Myspace profile and instead of showing 93 friends, say, it will show, 93 billion.
Neat, eh? I found that goodie over at Hacking A More Tasteful MySpace. You can see another usage of it at the Rich Hermit’s profile too.
Parental Observation and MySpace tips
Keeping track of your children on MySpace…it’s truly a hero’s journey!
As your children get older, it’s only natural they’ll start gravitating over to MySpace to network with their friends. You can’t protect them from it! If you don’t allow Myspace at your home, they’ll simply log on via public libraries.

MySpace Friends
If you’ve ever had a chance to meander by a MySpace profile or perhaps 45 zillion of them, you’ll notice they all (for the most part) have this lovely button or graphics that lets you add them as a friend to your network.
Now…why would you want to do this?
Well, several reasons actually. If you’re part of a clique in school, you can network together and send each other cool messages about the music you’ve heard, the 764 page essay you need to write, the 43 college applications you have to fill out etc.
If instead you absolutely adore American Idol, you can add people whose profile indicates their day just isn’t successful unless they’ve had the latest in AI updates.
If you’re try to build a business online, you can search for other MySpacers who have hobbies or passions in the same niche and ask to be included in their network too! Then once you have a product or service developed, you can post a bulletin to alert your friends.
MySpace Friends can truly be a powerful resource.
Of course, there are difficulties and dangers for which you must be aware. Lots of people will post false information for one. Never ever give out your true identity or personal information! You never know who is reading your profile.
This Tips category will give you lots of ideas on how to get the kids of friends you deserve.
Grow your career via MySpace.com
One of the best things about the Internet is the ability to share and network with folks who have the same interests and passions!
Add career networking to that, and you can concoct one rather massive career-power for your own personal growth as well.
It makes sense, after all. With 90+million people on MySpace, it’s pretty obvious that virtually every career must be represented somehow. But merely existing doesn’t quite help you by itself…to really benefit your career growth from the powers of MySpace, you need to have a tailored game plan in place.
What good does it do if you find a supervisor who is dying to hire you…only to realize that you’d have to move 3,000 miles in a northeasternly direction? Or what if you discover that perfect career within 20 miles of your home, but 24×7 coverage is one key requirement (and you have a 2 year old child at home you couldn’t leave)?
This Tips section of GainFriends.com will help you turn your MySpace profile into a powerhouse attracting magnet….getting yourself known to fellow colleagues and offered opportunities from the hidden job market. Stay tuned!
Enjoy.
Must Haves for MySpace.com Profiles
If you want to really make your MySpace.com profile outshine the rest of the worlds’, you should consider adding these valuable resources to your overall plan.
1.) Host your own images via free webspace.
People add their own personality and images to their MySpace.com profile by including images from other sites like Photobucket, ImageShack and the like. The challenge you run into here is if your account exceeds its bandwidth, your images might become unaccessible. Therefore, I like to use my own webspace for my images.
Free webspace can be found:
That will help you for hosting images.
But what if you want to run a free ezine, build a fan-based list or grow a business list?
You can also consider:
2.) Add an optin autoresponder.
An autoresponder is what all the huge and teeny businesses alike use to stay in touch with their customers. If you have your own domain, your ISP probably already offers a free autoresponder or two. But if you want to market or run a business, you really should have the power of followup autoresponders (that allows you to send a series of messages to people who have requested them).
You can see my optin autoresponder on the right - it allows people to sign up for my free ezine.
You can use free autoresponders from companies…but your messages will then have their advertisements on them. I firmly believe in spending the $20/month or so to ensure my autoresponders focus on one thing only…my own business.
Popular autoresponders include:
3.) Add cool scripts
Many sites will offer you scripts you can include in your profiles that allow for cool actions. but you MUST be aware that some scripts will try to embed spyware or other ickies into your profile - ask around and investigate first before adding anything you don’t understand yourself!
That being said, here are some great MySpace script and code sites:
Tutorials for glitter text
Ever see those nifty neat glitter text animations on MySpace.com profiles like

Ever wonder how they’re done?
Generally it’s quite simple. You can type a few words into a text field and click Go….you’ll then receive the code you can include in your MySpace page to showcase the glitter text. In this case, the images will be hosted on the generator site.
Places like
will let you specify individual and unique letters, while others will simply present you with the whole graphic once you’ve finished typing out the word.
If you have a knack for Photoshop or PaintShopPro, you can follow tutorials like
Once you have glittered text, you can edit your profile and add it to whatever category you’d like (ie, your about me spot, who I’d like to meet, and more)
